Dear Teachers,

Thank you for the energy, creativity, and care you bring to your lessons every day. Our students look up to you - and the atmosphere you create during class plays a big role in how they learn and engage.

That’s why we’d like to kindly remind everyone about two important aspects of professional classroom behavior: appearance and focus.

The way we dress sets expectations for how the lesson will go. It helps students feel they’re in a structured and respectful environment - even if it’s online.

Please make sure to wear smart or professional-looking clothing during lessons.

A good rule of thumb: if you wouldn’t wear it in a classroom full of kids in person, don’t wear it online either.

We’ve also noticed some teachers occasionally checking their phones or being distracted by notifications during lessons.

Please give your students your full attention. Avoid using your phone or other devices unless they’re directly part of the lesson. This helps build trust, shows professionalism, and creates a better learning experience.

Being clearly visible during the lesson helps maintain connection and engagement with your students. Please ensure your camera is positioned so your face is centered and visible at all times.

As a guideline, your face and upper body should occupy around 70–75% of the frame. This helps students clearly see your expressions and keeps the focus on you without unnecessary background distractions.

Make sure your face is well-lit and clearly visible. Avoid sitting in a dark room or having strong light behind you, as this can make it difficult for students to see you. If natural lighting is limited, consider using a small LED lamp that can be attached to your screen or placed on your desk to improve visibility.

Try to avoid moving out of view, teaching from off-screen, or creating distractions in the background. A stable, well-framed presence supports better communication and keeps students focused.
