In our online English school, teaching children is an engaging and dynamic process. Instead of simple memorization, our approach encourages children to actively participate, explore, and enjoy the learning experience. To achieve this, we use a variety of educational methods that ensure the natural and effective development of students’ language skills.
An overview of the main methods we use:
🗣️ Communicative Approach: Learning English Through Practical Use
Our communicative approach is based on the idea that the best way to learn a language is by using it in real communicative situations. From the very first lesson, students are encouraged to listen and speak English in a natural and engaging way.
How it works: Teachers use simple, clear English supported by visual prompts and gestures to aid understanding. Students are encouraged to respond with at least a word or phrase to build confidence and comprehension skills.
Why it’s effective: Children learn to use English as a tool for communication—just like they learned their native language—allowing them to develop natural language skills.
🔍 Guided Discovery Method: Active Learning Through Exploration
The guided discovery method helps students explore and find answers on their own. Instead of simply presenting information, teachers encourage children to think, ask questions, and reach conclusions independently.
How it works: The teacher guides the student through tasks using hints, examples, and questions that stimulate independent thinking.
Why it’s effective: This method builds curiosity, critical thinking, and deeper understanding. Students become more independent and confident learners.
🌍 CLIL (Content and Language Integrated Learning): Learning English Through Other Subjects
CLIL combines language learning with subject-based content, allowing children to learn English while exploring topics such as animals, nature, or the environment.
How it works: Lessons integrate both language and subject content. For example, students may learn color vocabulary while discussing rainbows or weather phenomena in English.
Why it’s effective: Learning becomes more meaningful, as children not only study the language but also gain knowledge in other areas, which increases motivation.
🕺 TPR (Total Physical Response): Learning Through Movement
The Total Physical Response method is based on the idea that physical activity helps children acquire language more effectively. Students respond physically to spoken commands, which supports comprehension and memory.
How it works: The teacher gives simple instructions such as “Touch your head” or “Jump,” and students perform these actions. Over time, they learn the language through movement and repetition.
Why it’s effective: TPR engages multiple senses, makes learning vivid and memorable, and keeps children active and interested.
❤️ Summary: A Holistic Approach to Language Learning
By combining these methods, we create a balanced and engaging learning environment where children don’t just memorize words—they use the language in practice. This helps them build a strong foundation in English while also developing curiosity, critical thinking, and a love for learning.
Happy teaching!
